A Delivery Manager is a person that mainly focuses on delivering a complete and perfect product, process, service or solution to our customers. This is a role that works as part of a wider project or programme delivery team to enable them to deliver the best possible outcome.

What does a Delivery Manager do?

As a Delivery Manager, you will:

  • lead the hands-on delivery of digital projects
  • steer, guide and support multi-disciplinary teams to remain focused on delivering value and success
  • use your experience and expertise of agile/lean/user-centric delivery and stakeholder management to ensure your project is kept to a clear scope and timely schedule
  • be skilled at or willing to learn agile/ lean/ new working practices
  • continually seek to learn about new tools and techniques in project/ product delivery

Who does a Delivery Manager work with?

You’ll be working with skilled multi-disciplinary teams in delivering high quality services and making a positive impact to our customers and working closely with the Product Manager/Owner.

More about the roles

There are three level of a Delivery Manager:

1. Apprentice/ Associate Delivery Manager (entry level) – works on a small projects, working with mature agile teams to learn on the job.

2. Delivery Manager (mid level) – the complexity or breadth of products or teams will vary in this role, depending on the context.

3. Senior Delivery Manager (lead level) – is accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high-risk products, processes and services.
